Police Report: September 18-21

Thursday September 18:

3800 Rhode Island Avenue: At about 5:30 pm officers on patrol observed a female subject with an open container of an alcoholic beverage. She was issued a criminal citation for the violation and sent on her way.

3200 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 1 am officers observed a male subject consuming an alcoholic beverage in a public palace. The individual was issued a criminal citation for the violation and sent on his way.

3800 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 3 am officers stopped and interviewed a suspicious individual who was found to be in possession of CDS paraphernalia. She was issued a criminal citation for the violation and sent on her way

2700 block of Upshur Street: At about 12:45 pm officers took a report of a stolen tag. The victim reported that sometime early this morning person(s) unknown stole the rear tag off her vehicle (MD 6BJP94).

4100 block of 28th Street: At about 8 am officers took a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim told the officers that sometime prior to 8 am this morning person(s) unknown stole his tan colored 1994 Honda that was parked at his residence. A check of the area for witnesses/evidence proved negative.

Friday September 19:

2900 block of Bunker Hill Road: At about 6 pm officers were flagged down by a citizen who reported that a suspicious 1996 Jeep Cherokee was parked and unoccupied in the block. The officers checked the vehicle and discovered that it had been previously reported stolen out of Alexandria, VA. The vehicle was impounded and Alexandria PD was notified of the recovery.

34th Street and Tilden Road: At about 3 am officers conducted a traffic stop on a 1996 Honda Civic. The driver of the vehicle was found not to have a valid driver’s license. He was issued several traffic citations and his vehicle was impounded.

Saturday September 20:

4100 block of 34th Street: At about 3 am officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered that the driver of the vehicle was driving without a valid license. The driver was cited and his vehicle was impounded.

4200 block of 34th Street: At about noon officers responded for the report of a stolen license plate. The victim told the officers that sometime between 3 pm on Friday and noon today person(s) unknown stole the rear tag (MD LMJ389) off her 1998 Chevy Prism.

3200 block of Chillum Road: At about 1 am officers responded for the report of a hit and run traffic collision. Investigation revealed that a legally parked and unoccupied vehicle was struck by a second, unknown vehicle. The striking vehicle fled the scene without leaving any information. The parked vehicle suffered damage to the rear bumper area.

3200 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 12:10 pm officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by an individual known to not possess a valid driver’s license. The individual was issued several traffic citations and his vehicle was impounded.

Sunday September 21:

2400 block of Chillum Road: At about 1:30 am officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving with no headlights on. The driver of the vehicle was found to have an open warrant through Prince George’s County. He was arrested and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville. His vehicle was impounded.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Additionally, malicious or compromised charging stations can expose devices to the risk of a malware infection. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
