Police Report: December 31

Bunker Hill Road @ Eastern Avenue: At about 10:20 am officers were advised by a citizen of a stop sign down. Investigation revealed that the sign had been struck by an unknown motor vehicle which failed to stop. Public Works was notified to replace the sign.

4200 block of 31st Street: At about 11 am officers recovered a lost Virginia license plate JYU-9067. A check of the registration showed that the plate was not stolen or reported missing. The last known owner was notified and the tag was delivered to the property officer for safekeeping.

Otis Street & Eastern Avenue: At about 12:30 pm MRPD was notified by PGPD that their officers recovered a red 1997 Honda Accord that had been taken during an armed carjacking at Otis Street & Eastern Avenue on December 21. The car was in drivable condition, both tags were attached and no arrests were made. The vehicle taken to PGPD’s evidence unit for processing and the owner was notified of the recovery.

4100 block of 29th Street: At about 2 pm officers responded for a theft of fiber optic cable. The cable was the property of Verizon and was stolen from a utility control box which had been forced open. The unknown suspect(s) cut the cable causing a service disconnect to area customers. A canvass of the area was negative for evidence and/or witnesses.

2900 block of Bunker Hill Road: At about 4:30 pm officers responded for a stolen Maryland license plate (2BT-J69). Person(s) unknown stole the tag sometime during the late evening or early morning hours. The tag was entered into NCIC as stolen and victim/owner was provided case number so that MVA could issue a replacement tag.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Additionally, malicious or compromised charging stations can expose devices to the risk of a malware infection. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
