Police Report: January 29-31

Friday, January 29th:

Nothing significant to report.

Saturday, January 30th:

3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 12:10 p.m. officers issued a criminal citation to a man for disorderly conduct. He was sent on his way without further incident

4200 block of Russell Avenue: At about 9:15 p.m. officers investigated an attempted armed carjacking. The victim told the officers that she was sitting in her talking on her cell phone when a small built black male wearing a black hat and a ski mask approached her car and demanded that she get out. The suspect tried to open the car’s locked door and pointed what the victim thought was a handgun at her. At that point the victim put the vehicle in drive and drove away. She stopped at the 7-11 on Chillum Road where she was able to regain her composure and call police. A search of the area for the suspect was negative.

Buchanan Street at Queens Chapel Road: At about 3:10 p.m. officers investigated a citizen strong armed robbery. The victim told the officers that he was followed from the Giant grocery store by six juvenile black males wearing all black. Once across the roadway and onto Buchanan Street, three of six males began punching the victim until he fell to the ground. Once the victim was on the ground the males went through his pockets and stole his wallet and keys. All six suspects then fled on foot to the rear of the Beauty Depot. A canvass of the area provided negative results. The victim refused any medical treatment.

Sunday, January 31st:

2200 block of Varnum Street: At about 1 p.m. officers took a report of a 1st degree assault. The victim, a uniformed loss prevention employee, told the officers that he attempted to stop a man from stealing items off the store’s shelves. When the victim approached the man he turned and struck the victim with a closed fist. He then pulled out a large knife and threatened to cut him. The victim backed away from his assailant and allowed him to leave the store. A canvass of the area failed to locate the suspect.

Users are sent an e-mail encouraging them to a watch a video of the explosion. These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Additionally, malicious or compromised charging stations can expose devices to the risk of a malware infection. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
