Police Report: September 15-17

September 15th:

2500 block of Queens Chapel Road: At about 4:30 pm officers took a report of a stolen auto. The victim/owner of a black 2006 Nissan Maxima (Maryland tags 4EFH57) told the officers that he parked his car in the block at about 10 pm last night and found that it had been stolen when he returned for it this afternoon. No evidence/witnesses to the theft could be located.

2300 block of Varnum Street: At about 5 pm officers took a report of a theft. The victim told the officers that someone used his debit card to withdraw a large quantity of cash from his credit union account.

September 16th:

3200 block of Otis Street: At about 1 pm officers took a report of a sexual assault. The victim told the officers that on September 12th at about 4 am she was approached by a black male (no further description obtained) who asked her if she wanted to make some money. When the victim replied that she was not interested the man produced a knife, held it to her throat and proceeded to touch her inappropriately. The man fled the area after the assault in a direction the victim could not see. PGPD sex crimes detectives were notified and assumed a follow-up investigation.

3200 block of Queens Chapel Road: At about 4:30 pm officers took a report of a theft from auto. The victim told the officers that while she was fueling her vehicle a silver Mercedes Benz with unknown tags pulled up beside her vehicle. A black male got out, opened her unlocked car door and stole her purse. The man returned to the Mercedes and the car fled the parking lot in an unknown direction. A search of the area for the vehicle and the suspect proved negative.

2400 block of Chillum Road: At about 10 pm officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that a passenger in the vehicle had an open arrest warrant through the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested on the warrant and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

September 17th (early morning):

4100 block of 29th Street: At about 6 am officers took a report of a stolen auto. The victim/owner of a gray 2000 Jeep Cherokee (Maryland tags 929M213) told the officers that he parked his vehicle by his residence the previous evening and when he returned for it this morning he discovered that it had been stolen. A canvass of the area for evidence/witnesses proved negative.

Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
