Police Report: November 28-29

November 28th:

3100 block of Queens Chapel Road: At about 8 am officers responded for the report of a suspicious person. The officers stopped the individual in a stairwell and immediately recognized him as a man who had been barred from the property by MRPD on previous occasions. The officers again advised him to leave the property and not return and he complied. When he saw the officers leave the area he returned to his previous spot in the stairwell. The officers had anticipated his actions and also returned and arrested him for trespassing and failure to obey a lawful order of a police officer. He was delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

2400 block of Arundel Road: At about 10:25 am officers responded for the report of a motor vehicle collision. Further investigation revealed that the driver of the striking vehicle traveling north on Arundel Road when he lost control and struck three parked vehicles. After colliding with the three vehicles the striking vehicle turned over onto its roof. The driver of attempted to flee the scene on foot but witnesses gave officers a description of him and the direction in which he fled the scene. Officers were able to locate and arrest him in the 2700 block of Allison Street. The several witnesses positively identified him as the driver of the striking vehicle. After he was arrested he failed a field sobriety exam and refused to submit to a breathalyzer test. He was arrested and charged with DUI/DWI and issued 13 Maryland State traffic citations.

3000 block of Bunker Hill Road: At about 3 pm officers took a report of an attempted residential burglary. The victim told the officers that sometime between 3 pm and 10:30 pm on November 27th someone tried to break into his residence by damaged both locks on the front door. They were unable to get the door open, no other entry was made and nothing was missing from inside. A canvass of the area for evidence/witnesses was negative.

November 29th:

3200 block of Queenstown Drive: At about 10:25 am officers took a report of a missing person. The officers learned that a 14 year old male had run away from home on November 27th after getting suspended from school and being disciplined at home. This was not the first time officers had been notified of this juvenile having run away. His information was entered into the NCIC missing persons database.

2700 block of Arundel Road: At about 10:05 pm officers received a call for a suspicious person pushing a moped behind an apartment building. When the officers arrived they found an abandoned silver and black moped with no registration or other identifying information. The moped was impounded for safekeeping.

Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
