Police Report: January 3-4

January 3rd:

4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station): Theft from auto – 10:45 am. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole her purse while she was inside the gas station.

3800 block of 34th Street: Stolen auto – 11:50 am. The victim told the officers that sometime during the previous 24 hours someone stole her 1995 Honda Civic. There were no license plates attached to the vehicle at the time of the theft.

4000 block of 36th Street: Vandalism to auto – 3 pm. The victim showed the officers where someone damaged the hood and engine compartment of his 2001 Mercedes Benz. The officers determined that the damage was caused by a gun shot.

January 4th:

4300 block of Kaywood Drive: Theft from auto – 3:45 am. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle by damaging a door lock and stole several stereo components.

3200 block of Arundel Road: Citizen armed robbery – 7:30 pm. The victim told the officers that while walking home from the Metro Station he was approached by three black males, all wearing dark clothing, one of whom was armed with a silver handgun. The three suspects ordered the victim to surrender his wallet and cell phone which he did. All three suspects then fled the scene in different directions. Officers canvassing the neighborhood recovered some of the victim’s property on 32nd Street. PGPD robbery detectives from District I responded and assumed the follow-up investigation.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Additionally, malicious or compromised charging stations can expose devices to the risk of a malware infection. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
