Police Report: March 8

34th Street & Windom Road: Motor vehicle collision - 3:30 pm. A man driving a red Chevy truck failed to stop for a stop sign and struck an unmarked MRPD police vehicle. The man then tried to flee the scene. After a short pursuit MRPD units and PGPD SAT officers were able to stop the vehicle on Rainier Avenue. The man was charged with numerous traffic violations including driving an uninsured motor vehicle. His vehicle was impounded. The police vehicle sustained moderate damage to the right front bumper and quarter panel.

3800 block of 32nd Street: Destruction of property - 11:55 pm. Officers spoke with a resident who told them that a man, known to him only as Richard, came to his residence and asked to speak with him. When the resident refused to open the door the man made threats of having a weapon. The victim refused to open the door whereupon the man broke a one of the victim’s windows.

BURGLARY ARREST: At about 3 pm MRPD officers along with three PGPD SAT units began a surveillance of three male juveniles who were suspected of committing several recent burglaries in the City. At about the same time the officers’ surveillance began a witness to a burglary in the 4000 block of 30th Street on Monday March 7th called and identified the three as the ones who committed that crime. After about an hour the officers developed sufficient reasonable suspicion to stop and detain the three for questioning. During questioning one of the three confessed to committing three of the recent burglaries and named the other two as his accomplices. Physical evidence obtained from the three positively linked them to two of those crimes. Two of the three juveniles were charged with several counts of burglary via juvenile petitions and released to their parents/guardians. An investigation to determine their involvement in additional burglaries/crimes is continuing and additional charges are anticipated.

As a result of this arrest the following burglaries have been closed:

- Saturday February 19th in the 4400 block of 30th Street
- Friday March 4th in the 4000 block of 36th Street
- Monday March 7th in the 4000 block of 30th Street

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
