Police Report: February 21-27

The Mount Rainier Police Department’s weekly report is not intended to be a listing of every incident or call for service handled by the police department, but merely a general summary of incidents that may be of interest to the community. February 27 th : 3200 block of Queenstown Drive : Stolen vehicle – 2:30am. The owner of a 2015 Honda Accord told officers that sometime between 10pm on the 26 th and the time he called police someone stole his vehicle from where he had parked it. 3000 block of Arundel Road : Stolen vehicle – 10:15am. The owner of a 1994 Jeep told officers that sometime between 5pm on the 26 th and the time he called police someone stole his vehicle from the corner of 31 st Street and Arundel Road. 3300 block of Buchanan Street : Vandalism to auto – 11:45am. February 20 th : 2400 block of Arundel Road : Property damage – 3:25pm. The owner of a 1999 Oldsmobile was driving down Arundel Road when he saw two men fighting. One of the men was swinging a shovel at the other and mistakenly hit the victim’s car with the shovel. Both men fled, but the shovel man returned a few minutes later and provided the victim with all of his information and said that he would pay for the damage to the vehicle. 3300 block of Chauncey Place : Hit and run collision – 3:35pm. February 6 th : Queens Chapel Road at Buchanan Street : M/V collision – 11am. Officers investigating the collision determined that a 2015 Nissan Altima was coming out of the commercial parking lot and crossing Queens Chapel Road when a 2007 Toyota Camry traveling east on Queens Chapel struck the crossing Toyota. Both vehicles were disabled and were impounded. 3500 block of Shepherd Street : Burglary – 12:10pm. The homeowner returned home and discovered the rear door open and called police. February 13 th : 3800 block of 34 th Street : Criminal citation x3 – 11am. Officers issued each of three men a criminal citation for drinking in public. 4000 block of 29 th Street : Vandalism to auto – 5:45pm.  The owner of a 1996 Ford told officers that he discovered the rear window to his car had been broken out. February 12 th : 4100 block of 34 th Street : Vehicle impound – 3:25pm. Officers impounded a 2009 Honda for a compulsory insurance violation and failure to pay multiple parking citations. 32 nd Street and Bunker Hill Road : Hit and run
