FW: Police Report: May 22-28

The Mount Rainier Police Department’s weekly report is not intended to be a listing of every incident or call for service handled by the police department, but merely a general summary of incidents that may be of interest to the community. May 28 th : Nothing significant to report. May 27 th : 4700 block of 31 st Place : Hit and run collision – 8:10am. The owner of a 2004 Nissan Titan told officers that he came out to his vehicle this morning and discovered damage to the front fender and the driver’s side rear door. The victim suspected that the damage was caused by a trash truck, however when the officers contacted the trash company they learned that the trash was picked up on Thursday the 26 th as scheduled so the trash truck should not have been present. No other evidence was recovered. 3300 block

Police Report: May15-21

May 21 st : 3500 block of Perry Street : Emergency petition – 12:01am. The father of a 24 year old woman called police because his daughter was out of control and destroying property in the family home. Officers spoke with the woman and learned that earlier in the day she sent her father a text in which she threatened to have herself harmed; and that she had not been taking her depression medication. Officers took her into custody, transported her to Washington Adventist Hospital and released her to the medical staff for an emergency psychiatric evaluation. 4000 bloc

Police Report: May 8-14

May 14 th : 4100 block of 34 th Street : Theft from auto/attempt credit card abuse – 9:10am. The owner of a 2007 Dodge Caravan told officers that he left his vehicle unlocked as he was helping unload/load items for the church. When he returned to his van he saw a tall, light skinned black woman in her 20’s or 30’s shut the driver’s door to his vehicle. The woman got into a greenish colored Ford, possibly a Bronco, and drive quickly away west on Bunker Hill Road. When the victim checked the van he discovered that his wallet, a GPS unit and a large quantity of US Currenc

Police Report: May 1-7

May 7 th : 3200 block of Chillum Road : M/V collision – 1:45am. Officers investigating a rear end collision discovered that the driver of the striking vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. He failed standard field sobriety testing, was cited accordingly and his vehicle was impounded. 3100 block of Queens Chapel Road : Domestic assault – 4:50pm. The victim told officers that during an argument her husband assaulted her with a mug of hot tea. The victim had visible signs of injury and was taken by EMS to Prince George’s Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Office
