Police Report: June 18-24

The Mount Rainier Police Department's weekly report is not intended to be a listing of every incident or call for service handled by the police department, but merely a general summary of incidents that may be of interest to the community. Some reports may be outside the date parameters due to extended investigations or other circumstances. Some cases are not included at all due to ongoing investigations. June 24 th : 4200 block of 30th Street : Vehicle impound – 4:30pm. Officers impounded a 1997 Toyota that had been previously marked for 40-hour towing. 3300 block of Bunker Hill Road : Criminal citation – 10:35pm. Officers issued each of two men a criminal citation for disorderly conduct. June 23 rd : 4200 block of 28 th Street : Carjacking – 2:20am. Officers were notified that a carjacking occurred about an hour prior. While responded to meet with the victim PGPD plainclothes officers located the vehicle occupied by two individuals and followed it into DC.

On an 85-degree day, the temperature inside a car with the windows opened slightly can reach 102 degrees within 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, the temperature can reach 120 degrees.
