Hazardous Weather - Flash Flood Watch

The National Weather Service has issued as Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Saturday afternoon. The Mount Rainier Department of Public Works has been preparing for the storm. The State of Maryland is monitoring the conditions with the national Weather Service and we do not currently anticipate initiating emergency operations. 65 Law Enforcement Line-of-Duty Deaths in First Half of 2017

According to preliminary data compiled by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, as of June 30, 2017, 65 federal, state, and local law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty this year, increasing 30 percent over the 50 officers killed during the same period last year. http://www.nleomf.org/facts/research-bulletins/
