Police Report: April 14-15

April 14:

4500 block of 32nd Street: At about 3 pm officers responded for an unattended death. The officers were met by fire department personnel who told them that relatives asked them to check the welfare of a family member since they had not had contact with him in a couple of days. When FD personnel arrived they discovered the individual deceased inside his residence. Based on previous contacts with the decedent officers and City officials were aware that he suffered from terminal cancer and his death was not unexpected

4200 block of 28th Street: At about 11:30 pm officers responded for the report of an individual having a medical emergency. The reporting person told the officers that he returned home to discover his girlfriend unconscious and unresponsive due to ingesting excessive medication. Fire/rescue personnel transported her to Washington Adventist Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

3300 block of Buchanan Street: At about 11:14 pm officers responded for the report of a sexual assault. The victim told the officers that she was walking home after work when she was approached by an Hispanic male brandishing a knife. The man demanded money from the victim and she told him that she had none. He then forced her into a secluded area of the apartment complex at knife point and sexually assaulted her. PGPD Sexual Assault Unit detectives responded to the scene to handle the investigation. The victim was taken to Prince George’s Hospital center for medical treatment and a sexual assault examination. The victim described her assailant as an Hispanic male, about 5’7” tall, 180 lbs., wearing a black hooded jacket and dark pants.

April 15:

4000 block of 38th Street (Brentwood): At about 12:11 am officers stopped a vehicle for various traffic violations. During the stop the officers saw the driver kick a bag under the front seat. The officers retrieved the bag and noted that it contained narcotics paraphernalia. The evidence was seized and the driver was issued the appropriate traffic citations and a criminal citation for possession of CDS paraphernalia.

3300 block of Otis Street: At about 7:45 pm officers took a theft report. The victim told the officers that someone entered her room and stole 54 music CD’s valued at approximately $1,080.00. The victim postulated that the person(s) responsible may have been her sister or her sister’s boyfriend because of an ongoing family dispute.

3300 block of Chillum Road: At about 9:50 pm officers responded for the report of an auto accident with injuries. When the officers arrived they observed that a two car head- on collision had occurred, however neither of the drivers was injured. The officers investigation revealed that the striking vehicle made a right turn from northbound Queens Chapel Road onto eastbound Chillum Road and struck a vehicle traveling west on Chillum. The driver of the striking vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of .30 – almost 4 times the legal limit. She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and other related state traffic violations.

Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
