4000 block of 35th Street: Warrant arrest – 8 pm. Officers on patrol observed an individual who they knew had an open arrest warrant through Prince George’s County for possession with the intent to distribute narcotics and violation of probation. The individual was arrested without incident and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.
4000 block of 36th Street: Child abuse/neglect – 11:15 pm. Officers were flagged down by a man who reported finding his four year old daughter left unattended locked in an apartment. Further investigation revealed that the child’s mother left the little girl alone in an apartment so she could go out to a night club. Officers contacted the mother and requested that she return to the apartment. When she arrived she was arrested and charged with child abuse and leaving her child unattended. The child was not injured and was in good health. Child protective services was contacted and will be conducting their own investigation.
