January 24 th : 3200 block of Buchanan Street : Hit and run collision – 4:44pm. The owner of a 2005 Honda told officers that he parked his vehicle in good condition this morning at about 10:30. When he returned to the car this afternoon he discovered damage that was consistent with being struck by a passing vehicle. The damage appeared superficial and no additional evidence/witnesses could be found. January 23 rd : 4600 block of 27 th Street : Vehicle impound – 9:05am. Citizen armed robbery – UPDATE . MRPD has been notified that PGPD robbery detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for a man who robbed a resident at gun point back on November 16, 2014  in the 4100 block of Kaywood Drive. Officers are looking for Emmett Leon Kemp. Kemp is a black male with a DOB of 12/20/1977 and a last  known address of 1134 Wahler Place, SE, Washington DC. Anyone with information about Kemp’s whereabouts should call the Regional Investigation Division – North / RST / at 301-699-2601.   Emmett Leon Kemp   Michael E. Officers responded for the report of a large, out of control party. As officers were clearing the apartment of party goers one man became uncooperative and disorderly. He was issued a criminal citation for disorderly conduct and sent on his way.   4000 block of 35 th Street: Burglary – 1pm. A realtor told officers that she was at a vacant home for a final sale inspection and discovered that someone had broken into the home through a rear basement door. On November 14, 2012 a homicide occurred in the 3800 block of 37 th Street. Ronald Jefferson Short was identified as a suspect in the homicide and arrested and charged with 1 st degree murder within 24 hours of the crime. This afternoon Ronald Jefferson Short was found guilty of 1 st degree murder by a Circuit Court jury here in Prince George’s County. He is scheduled to be sentenced on February 27 th and faces life imprisonment plus 35 years without the possibility of parole.   Michael E. Officers patrolling with an automated license plate reader were alerted to a 2006 Lexus that had a suspended registration and a pick up order for the tags. The tags were seized for return to MVA and the vehicle was impounded.   3100 block of Queens Chapel Road : Warrant service – 3:45pm. Officers stopped to interview a suspicious person that had a strong odor of marijuana about his person. Further investigation revealed that he had an open arrest warrant through Prince George’s County for failing to appear i

January 3 rd : Nothing significant to report. January 2 nd : Nothing significant to report. January 1 st : 34 th Street and Arundel Road : MV collision – 3:05pm. Officers investigated a collision and determined that the driver of a 2014 Dodge Dart failed to yield at a red light and struck a 1993 Buick Park Avenue already in the intersection. The Dart was disabled as a result of the accident and was impounded. December 31 st : 4500 block of 32 nd Street : MIR (Child custody) – 8am. The complainant told officers that he attempted to drop his children off with their mother at the agr

December 27 th : Rhode Island Avenue and Perry Street : M/V collision – 1:50am. Investigation revealed that a man was driving his 2002 Acura north on Rhode Island Avenue and struck a curb in the traffic circle. The vehicle continued onto the grassy median and struck another curb at Perry Street knocking the pedestrian crosswalk sign out of the ground. The vehicle was inoperable and towed from the scene. The  driver was issued several traffic citations and released. 3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue : Criminal citation – 10:45am. Officers issued a man a criminal citation for drinking
