Police report: August 21

2900 block of Queens Chapel Road: At about 7 am officers received a call from citizen who said that she had obtained an arrest warrant for an individual who was currently standing in front of her residence. When the officers arrived they met with the citizen who produced a copy of the warrant. The warrant was confirmed and the individual was arrested without incident and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

3400 block of Newton Street: At about 8:30 am officers responded for the report of a stolen motorcycle. The victim told the officers that sometime during the evening/morning hours unknown suspect(s) stole his motorcycle. A check of area for witnesses/evidence was negative. At about 1 pm MRPD was notified that officers MPDC located and recovered the motorcycle 25th & E Streets NE. No arrests were made. The owner was notified and the vehicle was released to him where it was recovered.

Buchanan Street at Queenstown Drive: At about 2 pm a parking enforcement officer cited and impounded a 1988 Chevy Blazer with Maryland tags 809M064 for violation of the City’s 48-hour ordinance. The vehicle had been previously marked for removal.

3300 block of Perry Street: At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of two suspicious individuals. When the officers arrived they saw two individuals consuming alcoholic beverages in public. Further investigation revealed that one of the individuals was in possession of a CDS. That subject was arrested and charged accordingly. The second subject was issued a criminal citation and released without incident.

3800 block of Perry Street: At about 6:30 pm officers responded for a domestic dispute. When they arrived they found a couple having an argument and separated the two in order to calm the situation. The male half had his hands concealed in his pockets and the officers asked him to remove his hands from his pockets for officer safety reasons. He refused and proceeded to become verbally combative, loud and disorderly, and directed profanity towards the officers. The officers advised him to calm down and get himself under control or he would be arrested for disorderly conduct. The man became even more disorderly at that point and when the officers approached him he took a combative stance with arms up and closed fists implying he was ready to fight. The officers advised him that he was under arrest and attempted to take him into custody. He immediately resisted and assaulted two officers. The officers were forced to deploy their issued OC spray to gain control of the individual. Once under control he was transported to DOC in Hyattsville where he was charged with disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer (2 counts) and resisting arrest.

3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 9 pm officers received call for two subjects consuming alcoholic beverages in public. The individuals were located and the officers saw them drinking as the complainant described. Both were issued a criminal citation for the violation and released without incident.

Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
