Police Report: September 1-3

September 1st:

3400 block of Eastern Avenue: At about 4:30 pm officers responded for the report of an assault. When the officers arrived they interviewed the victim, who was bleeding from her mouth and right eye, who told them that her ex-boyfriend punched her repeatedly causing her injuries. The ex-boyfriend was located on the porch of a neighboring property and arrested. He was charged with assault and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

4300 block of Eastern Avenue: At about 11:55 pm officers took a report of a carjacking. The victims (2) told the officers that were standing outside their 2009 Toyota Camry (Maryland tags 3FBK85) when they were approached by a dark skinned black male, 5’11” tall, wearing a purple shirt and light-blue jeans with a t-shirt covering his face. The man brandished a small black semi-automatic hand gun and demanded the keys to the vehicle. The victim gave him her keys and he drove off with the vehicle in an unknown direction. The officers canvassed the area for the vehicle and the suspect with negative results. PGPD robbery detectives responded to the scene to assume a follow-up investigation.

September 2nd:

3200 block of Chillum Road: At about 1 am officers interviewed a woman who reported her 15 year old daughter missing. The mom told the officers that her daughter left the area with an unknown individual who was driving a red Honda. The mother and daughter had had a recent argument which prompted the daughter to leave. Mom said that this was not the first time her daughter had gone missing after an argument. The daughter’s information was entered into the NCIC missing persons database.

2600 block of Queens Chapel Road: At about 2:40 pm officers were flagged down by a victim who told them that a man kicked a large dent in the rear passenger door of his vehicle. The man was quickly located and arrested. He was charged with malicious destruction of property and possession of CDS and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

September 3rd (early morning):

4400 block of 29th Street: At about 3 am officers impounded an illegally parked 2007 GMC Yukon (Maryland tags M970151). A check of the vehicle’s registration revealed that the tags were expired and had an MSP pick up order for failure to comply with emissions. The vehicle was issued two parking citations and the tags were seized for return to MVA.
