October 22nd:

3100 block of Chillum Road: At about 10:25 pm officers were flagged down by a citizen in reference to a 2008 Mercury Sable with the windows rolled down that had been there for an extended period of time. A check of the vehicle’s registration revealed that it had been reported stolen from an address in Prince George’s County. It was impounded for safekeeping and the owner was notified of the recovery.

Kaywood Drive & Russell Avenue: At about 11:55 pm officers took a report of a stolen auto. The victim owner of a 2001 Toyota Camry (Maryland tag JBG549) told the officers that he parked his car by his residence at about 7:45 pm on the 21st. When he returned for it today he discovered that it had been stolen. No evidence or witnesses were identified.

October 23rd:

4100 block of Russell Avenue: At about 3:00 am officers discovered a man slumped over the wheel of his vehicle. He was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI/DUI.

3200 block of Queenstown Drive: At about 11:40 pm officers took a report of fraud. The officers spoke to a female victim who told them that she responded to an ad on Craig’s List for a job. She sent in a resume and received an email stating that she was hired. The supposed employer then sent her two money orders with which to purchase computer equipment. The money orders turned out to be fraudulent and were not cashed.

October 24th:

2700 block of Allison Street: At about 9:45 pm officers took a report of a stolen auto. When the officers arrived the victim told them that sometime within the last 45 minutes someone stole his white 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager (Maryland tag 20111M1). No evidence or witnesses were located, however the officers did find a Dodge Caravan parked nearby that had been reported stolen from the 5800 block of Eastern Avenue in DC at about 8:30 pm. At about 3:30 am on the 25th PGPD took a report of a citizen robbery (outside MR) where the stolen Plymouth Grand Voyager was used as the getaway vehicle by suspects armed with long guns. At about 5:15 am these same suspects, by now driving a red Dodge Caravan, carjacked a woman in the 3300 block of Buchanan Street.
