Police Report: October 27-28

October 27th:

3300 block of Buchanan Street: At about 4:45 pm officers took a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers were familiar with the juvenile and noted that she is a habitual run away. The officers learned from her parents that this time she left home on the 26th and did not return as expected. She is not considered a critical missing person and her information was entered into the NCIC missing persons database.

4300 block of Kaywood Drive: At about 3:30 pm officers were notified by DC police that their officers had recovered a 2009 Toyota Camry that was taken in an armed carjacking in the 4300 block of Kaywood Drive on September 1st. DC recovered the vehicle in the 700 block of Oglethorpe Street NE. It was in good condition with both tags still attached. PGPD robbery detectives took custody of the vehicle in order to process it for evidence. No arrests were made.

October 28th (early morning):

3300 block of Chillum Road: At about 1 am officers responded to assist Queenstown Apartments security with a possible stolen car. The contract tow company for the complex was in the process of towing a vehicle for not having a parking permit when they noticed damage to the vehicle’s ignition. MRPD officers ran a stolen check on the vehicle and discovered that it had been reported stolen from an address outside the City in Prince George’s County. The vehicle was recovered and impounded for safekeeping.

Community Shredding Day

Please mark you calendars for Saturday July 18th, 2009 for community shredding day. Priority One Shredding of Bowie, Maryland will provide free personal shredding services and secure document destruction from 8 am until 11am at the Bunker Hill Fire Station. Priority One Shredding is a leading provider of personal and business secure document destruction. Residents are welcome to watch their documents being destroyed, and once the shredding process is completed, the remains are locked in the mobile destruction unit until the paper is recycled. Priority One will also provide residents with a variety of identity theft prevention information free of charge. If you miss the community shredding day on July 18th, be sure to bring your bulk documents to National Night Out. Priority One will be onsite from 6-9 pm providing shredding services to residents again, free of charge .
