Police Report: January 28-February 1

January 28:

Nothing significant to report.

January 29:

4100 block of 31st Street: At about 12:30 am officers responded for the report of an attempted citizen armed robbery. The officers met with the victim who told them that a black male attempted to rob him on his property. The victim said that he had just pulled into his driveway and was getting out of his vehicle when he saw three black males exiting a vehicle directly across the street. The victim began walking towards the back of the house when one of the males walked across his lawn, approached him and demanded his money. The victim and his assailant began tussling during which the suspect struck him with a butt of a handgun. At this point the victim began yelling for help and the three males ran to the vehicle and fled down 31st street toward Queens Chapel Road. The victim suffered minor injuries to the left side of his face and to his neck but refused medical attention. He told the officers that nothing was taken from his person or vehicle, and, that because his glasses were knocked off during the scuffle he could not give a detailed description of the suspects or their vehicle. Multiple canvasses for the suspects and their vehicle were conducted throughout the area with negative results. PGPD robbery detectives were notified of the incident and will be conducting a follow-up investigation.

January 30:

3700 block of Bunker Hill Road: At about 8:45 am officers received a call of a vandalism to auto. The victim told the officers that she parked her vehicle on 01/29/09 at about 9:00pm and returned o her vehicle on 01/30/09 at 5:30am to discover that her vehicle had been damaged. The driver side head light was hanging out along with scratches on the driver’s front quarter panel.

2700 block of Queens Chapel Road: At about 12:45am an MRPD Parking Enforcement Officer impounded a 2001 Buick Le saber for having expired license plates.

4000 block of 33rd Street: At about 10:30 pm officers received a call for a citizen robbery. The victim reported that he was visiting a friend and when he went to leave his friend’s residence and walk to his vehicle he was approached by two black males wearing ski masks and armed with handguns. The suspects ordered him to the ground and went through his pockets and took a large amount of cash. The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction. During their investigation of the incident the officers recovered what are believed to be 10 stolen pre-paid credit/debit cards from the victim’s vehicle. The victim apparently got these cards and withdrew several thousands of dollars out of various ATM machines. The suspects either witnessed the withdrawals or new of them and waited for the victim to leave his friend’s house and robbed him of the cash. The credit/debit cards were seized as evidence and a follow-up investigation by PGPD robbery detectives will ensue.

3200 block of Chillum Road: At about 8 pm officers from the Power Squad were conducting foot patrols of the Queenstown Apartment complex when they observed two subjects loitering in one of the buildings. One of the subjects was found to be consuming an open alcoholic beverage. He was issued a criminal citation for the violation and sent on his was without further incident.

35th Street & Bunker Hill Road: At about 12:50 am power shift officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Honda Ridgeline truck. The occupants of the vehicle were suspected of being involved in a drug transaction. A Hyattsville City Police K9 dog was called to the scene and alerted to the presences of narcotics in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of a substantial amount of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Additionally, malicious or compromised charging stations can expose devices to the risk of a malware infection. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
