Police Report: December 19-24

December 19th:

Nothing significant to report.

December 20th:

Nothing significant to report.

December 21st:

3300 block of Buchanan Street: At about 10:30 a.m. officers impounded a vehicle parked in the roadway impeding traffic.

4500 block of 30th Street: At about 3:15 p.m. officers took a report of a hit and run motor vehicle collision that occurred on December 19th. The investigation revealed that an unknown vehicle ran a stop sign striking a second vehicle which in turn struck a third vehicle. The vehicle that ran the stop sign fled the area and remains unidentified.

December 22nd:

3800 block of 32nd Street: At about 9:35 a.m. officers took a theft from auto report. The victim told the officers that sometime during the evening/morning hours someone entered his vehicle, ransacked the interior and stole a portable audio device. A check of the area for evidence/witnesses was negative.

4300 block of Russell Avenue: At about 5:30 p.m. officers to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle collision. Their investigation revealed that an unknown vehicle struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and fled the scene. The struck vehicle suffered damage to the driver’s side area but was drivable.

4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station): At about 6:30 p.m. officers stopped a suspicious individual for a field interview. During the interview he gave the officers a false name and personal information in an attempt to avoid identification. The officers eventually were able to determine his true identity, and although he had no outstanding warrants or other issues he was issued a criminal citation for giving false information to a uniformed police officer.

1 Municipal Place: At about 8:10 p.m. officers took a report of a strong armed robbery. Their investigation revealed that the victim was waiting at the bus terminal texting on his cell phone when he was approached by six individuals. One of the individuals held the victim while a second individual went through the victim’s pockets and stole a quantity of US currency and the victim’s cell phone. All six individuals then fled the area. The victim told the officers that he could identify at least one of the individuals if he saw him again. Two witnesses were located and gave the officers a similar account of the robbery and would also be able to identify at least on of the individuals. PGPD robbery detectives responded to assume a follow up investigation. The two primary suspects are described as:

Suspect 1: Black male; 19-20 YOA; 6’ tall; 160lbs; wearing a white ski mask and a black coat.
Suspect 2: Black male; 19-20 YOA; wearing a black winter hat, black coat and black pants.

3100 block of Arundel Road: At about 10:10 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle for failing to stop for a stop sign. When the officers approached the vehicle to speak with the driver they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of approximately 50 grams of marijuana having a street value of about $1,000; and 19 Ecstasy pills with a street value of about $600. he was arrested, charged with several CDS related crimes and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

December 23rd:

3300 block of Buchanan Street: At about 6:15 a.m. officers took a report of a vandalism to auto. Sometime during the previous evening/early morning broke the rear window of the victim’s vehicle. A check of the area for evidence/witnesses was negative

3800 block of 33rd Street: At about 9:20 p.m. officers issued a criminal citation to a man for urinating in public. He was sent on his way without further incident.

December 24th:

4200 block of 34th Street: At about 9 a.m. officers took a stolen auto report. The victim owner told the officers that sometime during the previous evening/early morning someone stole his gray 1997 Plymouth Breeze (MD tag 2FAY84). A canvass of the area for evidence/witnesses proved negative.

4300 block of Russell Avenue: At about 12:30 p.m. officers took a stolen auto report. (V) Anderson, Alicia Shauna-Kay B/F 10/21/83 reported her vehicle stolen. The victim owner told the officers that sometime during the previous evening/early morning someone stole her red 1995 Buick Skylark (MD tag 1FGF86). A canvass of the area for evidence/witnesses proved negative.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
