January 25th:
3249 Rhode Island Avenue: At about 1:30 p.m. a man surrendered to MRPD after learning that he had an open arrest warrant through Montgomery County for failing to appear in court on a charge of marijuana possession. He was arrested on the warrant and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.
January 26th:
2700 block of Allison Street: At about 2:30 P.M. officers arrested a man for burglary. The officers learned that a man had been evicted from the apartment last October by the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office. The man had forced his way back into the vacant apartment and moved some of his belongings inside. He was delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville without incident.
3300 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 11:15 p.m. officers issued a man a criminal citation for urinating in public.
January 27th:
4200 block of 34th Street: At about 10 a.m. officers took a stolen car report. The victim/owner told the officers that sometime during the previous evening/morning hours someone stole his black 2005 Chevy Impala SS (MD tags 9DYK65). A check of the area for witnesses/evidence was negative.
January 28th:
3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 12:45 p.m. officers on patrol stopped a suspicious individual for a field interview. During the interview the officers discovered that he had an open arrest warrant through Montgomery County for extortion. He was arrested on the warrant and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.
3300 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 1:30 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver had a suspended driver’s license. He was issued three traffic citations and sent on his way. The vehicle he was driving was impounded for safekeeping.
2400 block of Chillum Road: At about 8:45 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver was driving without a valid license. He also gave the officers false identification in order to conceal the fact that he was unlicensed and had prior charges for driving without a license. He was issued five state traffic citations and his vehicle was impounded.
