June 19th:
3200 block of Chillum Road: Warrant arrest – 5:30 am. Officers stopped a Metro Access van for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver had an open arrest warrant through the Prince Georges County Sherriff’s Office for failing to appear in court on a charge of driving an uninsured motor vehicle. The driver arrested on the warrant and delivered to the custody of DOC. The van was released to another staff member from the contract company that operates the van.
3700 block of 37th Street: Welfare check – 10 pm. Officer responded to check the welfare of an elderly resident who did not have any electric power at his residence. The officers spoke with the man and found him in good health mentally and physically. They also learned that he has not had power for the last month and half due to a conflict with Pepco. Officers documented the state of the residence and reached out to Code Enforcement and other resources to assist him in getting his power restored.
3200 block of Taylor Street: Stolen auto – 10:35 pm. The owner of a 2009 Kia Spectra told officers that she was outside feeding a cat when she was approached by a black male in his early 20’s wearing a mask. The man told the woman to be quiet, snatched her car keys from her hand, and fled the area in her vehicle.
4200 block of Russell Avenue: Citizen robbery – 11:35 pm. The two victims told officers that they were unloading groceries when a silver four door vehicle pulled up. A black male described as 20-25 years of age, 5’10” tall, and 180 lbs got out of the vehicle and put on a black ski mask. The man brandished a handgun and ordered the victims to lie on the ground. He searched each victim taking several items of their personal property, then got back into the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction. The victims’ description of the silver vehicle led officers to believe it was the Kia Spectra stolen an hour before from the lady on Taylor Street.
June 20th:
2700 block of Allison Street: Traffic/vehicle impound – 9:30 am. Officers stopped a 1999 Chevy Cavalier for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the tags were expired. The driver was cited accordingly and the vehicle was impounded.
3100 block of Queens Chapel Road: Motor vehicle collision – 11:45 am. The driver of a 1999 Toyota 4Runner was driving through the parking lot at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle and struck two parked cars. The 4Runner was totaled and the other two vehicle sustained significant damage. Officers discovered that the driver did not have a driver’s license. He was arrested and charged with multiple traffic-related crimes. His vehicle was impounded.
June 21st:
4100 block of 31st Street: Theft – 12:30 pm. A woman came into MRPD to report that someone made several purchases with her Bank of America debit without her consent. Bank of America and the PGPD Financial Crimes Unit Division will conduct a follow-up investigation.
3300 block of Rhode Island Avenue: Theft – 4 pm. A woman came into MRPD to report that someone made an unauthorized debit on her Bank of America business checking account. The unauthorized debit
4500 block of 32nd Street: Neighbor dispute – 8:35 pm. Officers intervened in an ongoing neighbor dispute. Both parties were advised to avoid contact with each other and their civil options.
3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue: Criminal citation – 9 pm. Officers issued a woman a criminal citation for drinking an alcoholic beverage in public.

June 24th:
2700 block of Arundel Road: Stolen vehicle – 8:35 am. The owner of a 1995 Honda Accord lent her vehicle to a friend who parked it in the 2700 block of Arundel Road on June 23rd at about 9 pm. When the friend returned for the vehicle he discovered that it had been stolen.
4200 block of Russell Avenue: Destruction of property – 9:40 am. Officers responded for the report of a fight between two women. The officers determined that the fight stemmed from a disagreement over a male third party. They also discovered that one of the women used a tire iron to smash out the rear window of the other woman’s 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. She was arrested, charged accordingly and delivered to the custody of DOC in Upper Marlboro.
4000 block of 34th Street: Destruction of property – 10:45 am. The victim told officers that sometime between June 23rd at 11 pm and the time of the report someone broke the front door glass to the business.
4400 block of 31st Street: Theft – 1:10 pm. The victim told officers that sometime between 2 and 5 am this morning some stole two bicycles off her front porch. Both bikes were made by Huffy with one being blue, black and silver in color, the other pink, white and silver in color.
4100 block of 30th Street: Lost property – 2:30 pm. The owner of a 1992 Honda Accord arranged to have his vehicle towed to a charity to which he had donated the vehicle. The tow company towed the vehicle on May 20th and told the owner that they would mail his tags back to him. As of today the owner still had not received the tags and filed a lost property report.
June 25th:
3800 block of 34th Street: Criminal citation (x3) – 8:30 am. Officers issued three men criminal citations for drinking alcoholic beverages in public.
4600 and 4700 blocks of 27th Street: Destruction of property – 9:55 am. Witnesses reported that sometime during the early morning hours a man, described only as a black male, broke the windows out of two apartment building doors.
