Police Report: February 8-9

February 8th:

4200 block of 28th Place: At about 11:55 a.m. officers observed a 1997 Buick and a 2000 Honda blocking the roadway so that vehicles could not pass. Both cars were impounded.

4300 block of 28th Place: At about 7 p.m. officers responded for a 911 hang-up. The officers learned that the hang-up stemmed from a domestic argument. They were able to settle the dispute by getting the parties to agree to a voluntary separation. Both parties were advised of their options with a District Court commissioner.

3200 block of Queenstown Drive: At about 8 p.m. officers took a death report. The officers learned that a female hospice patient had passed away from natural causes. The officers made the necessary notifications and assisted the family in making arrangements.

February 9th (early morning):

2500 block of Arundel Road: At about 1 a.m. officers impounded a vehicle that had been parked on the snow emergency route for several hours. Efforts to locate the vehicle’s owner prior to impound were negative.

4100 block of 34th Street: At about 3 a.m. DC police notified MPRD that their officers recovered a vehicle that had been stolen from the 4100 block of 34th Street on January 24th. They recovered the vehicle on January 24th at the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue and South Dakota Avenue after it was involved in a motor vehicle collision. No arrests were made and no reason was given for the delay in notification.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Additionally, malicious or compromised charging stations can expose devices to the risk of a malware infection. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
