Police report: May 1-3

Friday May 1st:

3200 block of Taylor Street: At about 12:50 pm officers responded for an unknown trouble call. When the officers arrived they learned that a female resident had obtained an ex parte (stay away) order against a male acquaintance. The male subject had left the area prior to the officers’ arrival so they began a search of the area for him. They were able to locate the individual a short distance away and served the order. A short while later the officers received a return call from the female stating that the man had returned. The officers returned to the residence and found the man there in violation of the ex parte order. He was arrested for violating the order and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

2400 block of Arundel Road (Grand China parking lot): At about 9:45 pm officers on patrol observed three subjects consuming alcohol in a public place. All three were stopped, checked for warrants (negative) and issued criminal citations for the violation. They were sent on their way without further incident.

3800 block of 34th Street: At about 10 pm officers were called to the area for an individual possibly smoking CDS. When the officers arrived they located the individual but found no drugs. He was sent on his way without incident.

Saturday May 2nd:

3200 block of Shepherd Street: At about 12:10 am officers responded for the report of a suspicious male possibly smoking CDS. The officers located and identified the man but found no drugs. He was sent on his way without incident.

3100 block of Perry Street: At about 5:30 am officers responded for the report of vandalism to City property. The officers spoke with the complainant who told them that she was awakened by loud noises that she believed sounded like a group of juveniles. When she got up to investigate she saw several individuals running from the area. The officers checked the area and discovered that parking meter #805 had been vandalized and destroyed. A check of the area for the individuals the complainant observed was negative.

4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP Station): At about 1:10 pm officers responded to take a theft report. The victim of the theft told the officers that while she was getting gas a black male, about 20 years of age, wearing a black and white shirt entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her purse which was lying on the front seat. The gas station’s surveillance camera showed the individual committing the theft and also showed him leaving the scene in a newer model black Nissan maxima. A search of the area for the suspect and the car he was driving proved negative.

3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 11 pm officers responded for a vandalism report. When the officers arrived they discovered that person(s) unknown had broken a front window pane. No evidence was found to believe that those responsible entered the business or stole anything of value. The last person had left the business about two hours before the incident occurred. The officers checked the interior of the business as well as the surrounding area for evidence/witnesses with negative results.

Sunday May 3rd:

4100 block of Rainier Avenue: At about 3 am officers responded for the report of a vandalism to auto. Investigation revealed that an individual kicked out the passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle. The incident was witnesses by the victim’s domestic partner and a lookout was obtained. The officers searched for the suspect and located him in the 3200 block of Rhode Island Avenue. The witness responded to where the officers found the suspect and positively identified him as the man he saw vandalizing the vehicle. The individual was charged by criminal citation for destruction of property.

3600 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 8:45 am officers responded for the report of a vandalism to auto. Their investigation revealed that person(s) unknown broke the passenger side window of a parked motor vehicle with a rock. The rock was found in the rear seat. There was no evidence that those responsible stole anything of value from inside the vehicle and it did not appear that they tried to steal the car. A check of the area for suspects, witnesses or additional evidence was negative.

3800 block of 34th Street: At about 9 pm officers took a missing persons report involving a female juvenile. The girl’s parents told the officers that they were having ongoing issues with their daughter over the daughter’s boyfriend. They said that she left the house with the boyfriend on Friday May 1st after an altercation between her parents and the boyfriend. The parents also told the officers that their daughter is on probation and under house arrest. The girl’s probation officer was contacted and advised of current events and she was entered into the NCIC non-critical missing persons database.
