Police Report: July 8

4600 block of 25th Street: At about 4:25 pm officers were notified by MPD that one of their patrol officers recovered a Chrysler Sebring in the 1900 block of 3rd Street NE. The vehicle was originally reported stolen from a resident in the 4600 block of 25th Street in Mount Rainier on July 4th.

4700 block of 34th Street: At about 6:05 pm power shift officers observed a subject consuming an open alcoholic beverage in the 3700 block of Rhode Island Avenue. When the officers approached the subject and requested his identification he directed harsh profanity towards the officers and fled on foot. The officers, with the assistance of several PGPD officers finally apprehended and arrested the subject in the 4700 block of 34th Street. A search incident to arrest revealed that he was in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. He was delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville and is currently being held on a $20,000 bond.

3200 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 9:30 pm power shift officers were patrolling Rhode Island Avenue when they observed a man urinating in a doorway. He was issued a criminal citation for the violation and sent on his way.

Most of these remote entry devices have a panic button that activates your vehicle’s security alarm system. Test it.
