4200 block of 29th Street: At about 12:30 pm officers received a call for a suspicious individual knocking on doors in the neighborhood. The reporting person gave a good description of the individual and the officers were able to locate him quickly. He told the officers that he was a Mount Rainier resident and in the area soliciting for his private lawn service business. Criminal warrant checks were negative and he was advised of the City’s solicitation permit requirements and sent on his way.
3300 block of Buchanan Street: At about 11:00 pm power shift officers were conducting a bicycle patrol in the area when they observed a suspicious occupied vehicle with no head lights on. When the officers approached the vehicle they observed one of the passengers stick a bag of suspected marijuana in his pants. After further investigation the man was found to be in possession of marijuana as well as controlled narcotic prescription pills that were not his. He was subsequently arrested, charged with various CDS offenses and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.
