Police Report: September 24

Wednesday September 24:

4100 block of 29th Street: At about 9 am officers took a report of a vandalism to auto. Investigation revealed that person(s) unknown keyed or scratched the victim’s vehicle along the driver’s side sometime within the last three days. The owner/victim told the officers that he has been having on-going issue’s with his next door neighbor but does not know if the neighbor committed the vandalism.

3200 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a misdemeanor theft. The victim told the officers that she placed her purse under the counter at her place of employment and left it unattended. She returned later to find that someone had stolen her wallet from inside her purse. The wallet contained cash and personal cards/documents. Other employees of the business were questioned about the theft, but no one admitted to the theft or seeing any suspects. It was also determined that persons other than store employees would have had access to the counter area where the theft occurred.

4000 block of 34th Street: At about 4:30 pm officers took a report of a theft. He victim told the officers that he placed his back pack containing a laptop, a Maryland ID card, and a small quantity of cash under the counter at his place of employment and left it unattended. Other employees of the business were questioned about the theft, but no one admitted to the theft or seeing any suspects. It was also determined that persons other than store employees would have had access to the counter area where the theft occurred.

4600 block of 30th Street: At about 10:30 pm officers responded for a report of a stolen auto. The victim told the officers that he parked his 2004 Dodge Ram Truck, Virginia tags JYA5984, vehicle at his residence earlier in the day and when he returned for it later he discovered that it had been stolen. A check of the area for evidence and witnesses was negative.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
