Police Report: November 12-13

Wednesday November 12:

33rd Street & Bunker Hill Road: At about 10:10 am officers received a citizen complaint of an individual drinking alcohol in the gazebo park. The individual was located and the violation confirmed. He was issued a criminal citation and sent on his way without incident

4700 block of 27th Street: At about 2:30 am officers responded for a vehicle fire. The officers discovered a 1999 Plymouth Voyager fully engulfed in flames. Fire board responded and extinguished the blaze. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been previously reported stolen. Two vehicles which were parked next to the stolen vehicle both sustained fire damage.

Shepherd Street & 29th Street: At about 3:40 pm officers assigned to the power shift observed what they believed to be a hand to hand narcotics transaction. One of the subjects involved in the transaction was stopped and found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to DOC In Hyattsville.

39th Street & Windom Road: At about 1:15 pm officers assigned to the power shift officers stopped a suspicious individual for a field interview. During the interview a wanted check revealed that the individual has an outstanding arrest warrant through Prince George’s County for assault. He was arrested and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville without incident.

3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 3:05 pm officers assigned to the power shift observed an individual drinking from an open container of alcohol. The individual was issued a criminal citation and released without further incident.

Thursday November 13:

38th Street & Rhode Island Avenue: At about 1:29 am officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for minor traffic violations. The driver was found to be driving on a suspended license and had an open warrant through Montgomery County for FTA. The driver was arrested on the open warrant. The officers searched the vehicle incident to the driver’s arrest and discovered a small baggie of cocaine on the side of the driver’s seat. The driver was transported to DOC in Hyattsville and charged with possession of a CDS. The vehicle was impounded for safekeeping

4000 block of Cedar Lane Alley: At about 5 pm power shift officers patrolling the area observed several juveniles walking down the alley. One of the juveniles saw the officers and immediately placed an unknown object on the ground and tried to walk away. The officers stopped the juvenile and recovered the object that he discarded. The object was found to be a baggie containing a small amount of marijuana. The juvenile was arrested and released to the custody of his parents pending Juvenile Court action.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Additionally, malicious or compromised charging stations can expose devices to the risk of a malware infection. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
