Police Report: October 1

29th and Upshur Streets: At about 9 pm officers responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery. The victims told the officers that they were approached by two black males, one of whom was armed with a hand gun. The suspects stated "I know you got your check. It’s the first of the month. Give up the money!" The suspects did not obtain any money or property from the two victims and fled the scene in an unknown direction.

3400 block of Otis Street: At about 10:45 pm officers met with the victim of an attempted assault at MRPD headquarters. The victim told the officers that while on his way home he observed a 4-door tan colored Toyota Corolla occupied by two black males driving in the 3400 block of Otis Street. The victim said that the Toyota almost caused an accident and he stopped to see what was happening. He then noticed one of the men approaching him and saw that the man was holding a black handgun (revolver). The victim immediately drove away and went to MRPD headquarters to report the incident. MRPD officers responded to the area to try and locate the armed individual but were unable to do so. PGPD was notified of the incident lookout information relayed to them for investigation and officer safety.

38th Street at Bunker Hill Road: At about 12:30 am officers on patrol observed what they believed to be a drug transaction and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the involved vehicle. Upon seeing the officers the vehicle fled into DC at a high rate of speed. The officers located the vehicle at Shepherd Street and 22nd Street in DC. The driver had abandoned the vehicle before the officers arrived and fled the scene on foot. MPD officers arrived to assist with the incident but they too were not able to locate the driver. The vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.

Most of these remote entry devices have a panic button that activates your vehicle’s security alarm system. Test it. It will activate from almost anywhere inside your house and will keep honking and flashing the lights until either your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the remote entry fob.
