2500 block of Arundel Road: At about 2:15 am officers responded for the report of a theft from auto. The victim told the officers that at about 12:30 am he parked his 2007 Dodge Charger near his residence and when he returned to the car at about 2:10 he discovered that the front driver side door lock was missing and the interior of the vehicle including the front console and glove compartment were severely damaged. His also noted that his stereo/DVR monitor had been stolen. The officers canvassed the neighborhood for additional damaged vehicles and/or suspects with negative results.
Webster Street at 29th Street: At about 12:30 am officers responded to a resident complaint of an unoccupied black 1996 Nissan Maxima with Virginia tags XWA4194 that was parked with the driver side window and ignition lock damaged. When the officers arrived they inspected the vehicle and an NCIC check revealed that it had been reported stolen from Alexandria, Virginia. The officers watched the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes to see if anyone returned for it but no one did. The vehicle was impounded for safekeeping and Communications contacted the vehicle’s owners to notify them of the recovery.
