3800 block of 34th Street: At about 5:20 pm officers on foot patrol stopped an individual for drinking an alcoholic beverage in public. He was issued a criminal citation for the violation and sent on his way without incident.
34th Street at Rainier Avenue: At about 8:40 pm officers stopped a vehicle for running a stop sign. Further investigation revealed that the driver had a suspended license. He was cited for the two violations and his vehicle was impounded.
3300 block of Chauncey Place: At about 11:55 pm power shift officers observed a subject sitting in a vehicle who had previously fled from them. Officers stopped him because they knew from past experience that he did not have a valid driver’s license. He was found to not only have a suspended license but two open warrants through the Prince George’s County Sheriff's Department for contempt of court. He was arrested pursuant to the open warrants and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville. His vehicle was impounded.
