3200 block of Rhode Island Avenue (Thrifty Car Rental) : At about 8:15 am officers took a report of stolen license plates. The owner told the officers that sometime between 6 pm on June 22nd and 8:15 am today someone stole the license plates off a 2003 Ford F150 truck that was parked on the lot. The tags were Maryland 96V044. No evidence/witnesses were identified.
3200 block of Varnum Street: At about 5:45 pm officers received information from an anonymous citizen that a man who had an open arrest warrant was at a house in the block. The officers confirmed the existence of the warrant (second degree assault) through the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office prior to their arrival in the area. When the officers arrived the man fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief chase. He was taken into custody and delivered to the custody of DOC in Upper Marlboro without further incident.
