Police Report: June 7-8

June 7th:

4300 block of Russell Avenue: At about 2:30 pm officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress. When the officers arrived they discovered that the door to one of the apartments had been kicked in and a bedroom inside the apartment had been ransacked. A witness described two possible suspects as black males, one of whom was wearing a red shirt and a white baseball cap; the second wearing a white shirt. A search of the area for those two was negative.

June 8th:

3600 block of Perry Street: At about 6:45 am officers took a theft from auto report. The victim, who came to the police station to report the theft, told officers that someone forced entry into his truck and stole items of his personal property from inside the center console.

2300 block of Varnum Street (7-11): At about 10:15 am officers took a theft report. The store clerk told the officers that two black males (no further description) walked into the store, removed several items from the display shelves and fled the store. They were last seen heading towards Eastern Avenue.

Community Shredding Day

Please mark you calendars for Saturday July 18th, 2009 for community shredding day. Priority One Shredding of Bowie, Maryland will provide free personal shredding services and secure document destruction from 8 am until 11am at the Bunker Hill Fire Station. Priority One Shredding is a leading provider of personal and business secure document destruction. Residents are welcome to watch their documents being destroyed, and once the shredding process is completed, the remains are locked in the mobile destruction unit until the paper is recycled. Priority One will also provide residents with a variety of identity theft prevention information free of charge. If you miss the community shredding day on July 18th, be sure to bring your bulk documents to National Night Out. Priority One will be onsite from 6-9 pm providing shredding services to residents again, free of charge .
