2700 block of Arundel Road: At about 12:20 am officers took a report of a motor vehicle tampering in progress. By the time the officers arrived the suspects had fled the area. The officers observed that both door locks and the ignition of a silver Dodge Caravan had been punched out in an attempt to steal the vehicle. The officers were unable to locate or contact the registered owner of the van. No evidence was recovered and no witnesses could be identified.
4600 block of 29th Street: While canvassing the area in response to the tampering described above officers stopped a suspicious individual for a field interview. During the interview the officers discovered that the man had an open arrest warrant through the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office for second degree assault. He was arrested on the warrant and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.
