Police Report: November 26-30

Wednesday November 26:

One Municipal Place: At about 1:45 pm officers stopped a juvenile for drinking in public. The juvenile was charged with the violation along with disorderly conduct. He was released to his parents pending action by the juvenile court.

Thursday November 27:

3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 11:45 pm stopped an individual for drinking in public. While the officers were in the process of charging him for the alcohol, violation they discovered he had an open warrant through Prince George’s County for failing to appear on a contempt of court charge. He was arrested and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

Friday November 28:

3300 block of Chillum Road (7-11): At about 10:30 pm officers on patrol observed an individual who was trespassing in the store. He had been previously advised by management and MRPD that his business was not longer wanted and he was not to be in the store or on the property and had in fact been arrested for trespassing twice before. The officers arrested him for the third time and transported to DOC in Hyattsville without incident.

4100 block of 31st Street: At about 12:45 pm officers responded to take a report of a missing person. The husband stated that his wife left the residence on November 21st after an argument. Just prior to leaving the wife told her husband that she needed a few days away.

3200 block of Queenstown Drive: At about 7:50 pm officers responded for the report of a citizen armed robbery. The victims (there were two of them) told the officers that they were walking in the area when they were robbed by three suspects, one of whom was armed with a black handgun. The three suspects took the victims’ cell phones and money before fleeing the area on foot in an unknown direction. Both MRPD and PGPD units canvassed the area for the three suspects. During the canvass a vehicle was seen in the area that was possibly occupied by the suspects and PGPD officers attempted to stop this vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop and a brief chase ensued by PGPD units. The chase ended at Riggs Road at 3rd Street in DC and the three occupants were detained. MRPD transported both victims to the apprehension location and they were able to positively identify the three as the individuals who robbed them. All three suspects were arrested and charged with robbery and other charges.

Saturday November 29:

2500 block of Arundel Road: At about 12:20 am officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was possibly involved in an armed robbery outside the City. Investigation revealed that one of the occupants in the vehicle was in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to DOC in Hyattsville without incident.

3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue: At about 8 am officers on patrol observed an individual consuming an alcoholic beverage in public. The individual was issued a criminal citation for the violation and sent on his way without further incident.

3800 block of Perry Street: At about 5 pm officers effected a traffic stop on a vehicle for various traffic violations. A wanted check on the driver revealed that he had an open warrant through Montgomery County for failure to appear in court. Once the warrant was confirmed the driver was arrested and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville.

Sunday November 30:

4300 block of 34th Street: At about 4:45 pm officers stopped a suspicious individual for a field interview. During the interview the individual was found to be in possession of a small quantity of crack cocaine. He was arrested and transported to DOC in Hyattsville for processing.

3100 block of Arundel Road: At about 10 am officers received several calls for an alarm sounding in the area. The officers discovered a residential alarm sounding and checked the residence, finding it secure with no evidence of forced entry. The home owner could not be located and the alarm could not be re-set. The officers continued to check the residence throughout the day at one point learned from a neighbor that the resident was away for the holidays and could not be reached. At about 7:30 pm officers contacted the fire department and had them respond to cut the wires to the outside speaker to silence the alarm. It was later learned that there had been a power outage in the area early in the morning and when the power came back on the alarm was activated and failed to re-set.

2700 block of Queens Chapel Road: At about 7:45 pm officers responded for the report of a vandalism to auto. The victim showed the officers where person(s) unknown slashed the right rear tire of his vehicle. The victim told the officers that she is going through a domestic issue with her estranged spouse and that she believes that he is responsible for the damage although she did not see him commit the crime.

3300 block of Chillum Road: At about 9:20 pm officers on patrol observed an individual involved in what appeared to be a drug transaction. The individual was stopped for a field interview. During the interview the officers found that the individual was in possession of a glass container containing PCP. The individual was arrested, charged with possession of a CDS and taken to DOC In Hyattsville for processing. The PCP seized totaled 4.7 grams and had a street value of about $40.00.

Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
