Police Report: February 11-13

February 11th:

3200 block of Chillum Road: Attempt rape – 10:45 am. Officers spoke with the victim who stated that she confronted her long time boyfriend over his marital status. A verbal argument ensued resulting in the boyfriend leaving the apartment. The victim said she went to take a shower and when she got out of the shower she was confronted by the boyfriend who attempted to engage in sexual intercourse. He was unsuccessful and fled the apartment. While the victim was being interviewed the boyfriend returned to the scene and officers detained him for questioning. PGPD detectives were called to assist and they requested that both the victim and the boyfriend be transported to their station to be interviewed. At that point the victim refused to cooperate any further stating she would contact detectives at a later time.

2500 block of Arundel Road: Recovered stolen auto – 12:40 pm. Officers on patrol discovered a silver Dodge Charger that had been stripped of three of its four tires. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier from an address in Prince George’s County. PGPD was notified of the recovery and the vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.

25th Street and Arundel Road: CDS/warrant arrest – 8:30 pm. Officers stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. While speaking with the driver the officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle and searched. He was found to be in possession of a large quantity of individually packaged crack cocaine having a street value of $2,000. The front seat passenger was found to have an open arrest warrant through the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear in court on a traffic violation. Both individuals were arrested, charged accordingly, and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville. The vehicle was released to a member of the driver’s family.

4300 block of Upshur Street: Attempt robbery – 11 pm. Officers spoke with the reporting person who said that he was attempting to deliver food when he saw a young black male dressed in all dark clothing put on a mask and run towards his car. The reporting person believed he was about to be robbed and he drove off as the masked individual reached the passenger side of his vehicle. A search of the area for the suspect proved negative.

February 12th:

4500 block of 34th Street: Warrant arrest – 1:30 pm. Officers stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. Further investigation revealed that the driver had an open arrest warrant through the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office for violation of probation. The driver was issued a state citation, arrested on the warrant, and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville. The vehicle was released to a family member with a valid driver’s license.

3600 block of Rhode Island Avenue: Traffic violations – 8:30 pm. Officers stopped a vehicle because the tags displayed on it came back listed to another vehicle. The officers later discovered that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. He was issued several State citations and his vehicle was impounded.

3200 block of Chillum Road: CDS/warrant arrest – 11 pm. Officers responded for the report of several individuals loitering in a hallway. When they arrived they observed the individuals and stopped them for questioning. The officers learned that one of them, an adult, was in possession of 10 grams of marijuana; and another, a juvenile, had an open arrest warrant through Prince George’s County for robbery. The adult was charged accordingly and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville. The juvenile was arrested on the warrant and delivered to the custody of the juvenile detention center in Cheltenham.

February 13th:

3000 block of Upshur Street: Attempt stolen auto – 12:20 pm. The owner of a 2000 Plymouth Neon showed the officers where someone had removed the ignition from her vehicle that was parked in her driveway. There were no signs of forced entry although the victim stated her doors were locked.

Arundel Road and 29th Street: Motor vehicle collision – 3:45 pm. Two vehicles were involved in a minor collision when one vehicle attempted to pull into traffic. There were no injuries.

3200 block of Queens Chapel Road: Theft from auto – 4:10 pm. The victim told the officers that she pulled into the Sunoco gas station to make a purchase. When she returned to her vehicle she noticed a white in color vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed and her purse missing.

3400 block of Newton Street: Vandalism to auto – 9:45 pm. The owner of a 2007 Honda Pilot told officers that she returned to her vehicle and discovered that someone had broken the left rear window. Nothing was stolen from on or inside the vehicle.

These kiosks can contain concealed computers that attempt to extract data such as contact information, photos, and videos from connected devices, unbeknownst to the users. Additionally, malicious or compromised charging stations can expose devices to the risk of a malware infection. Police Report: May 8-11

Friday May 8th : 3400 block of 11 Newton Street : At about 2 pm officers responded for the report of a woman who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly punched the woman in the mouth and choked her. She told the officers that she did not want any police assistance and refused to tell the officers what had occurred. She was referred to the District Court Commissioner if she decided to press charges at a later time. Saturday May 9th : Nothing significant to report. Sunday May 10th : 4500 block of Eastern Avenue (BP station) : At about 11 am officers responded for the report of a stolen auto. The officers met with the victim/owner who told them that he left the keys to his 2002 Lincoln on the front seat when he went inside to pay for gas. When he came out of the store he saw his Lincoln being driven up Eastern Avenue towards Rhode Island Avenue by a black male (no further description). A check of the area for the stolen car proved negative and a lookout for it was gi
