February 7th:
Chillum Road & Queens Chapel Road: Assault - 7:05 pm. Officers responded for the report of a man chasing another man with a knife. The officers searched the area and detained a suspect who fit the description of the man with the knife. During their search the officers also learned that PGPD officers were searching for a man who assaulted a victim with a hammer and who also happened to fit the description of the man with the knife. The man was positively identified as the assailant in PGPD’s case. He was arrested and turned over to PGPD for charges and disposition.
February 8th (early morning):
3200 block of Chillum Road: Warrant arrest - 12:20 am. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver had an open warrant through Prince George’s County for failure to appear in court for driving on a suspended driver’s license. The driver was arrested on the warrant and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville. His vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.
