January 1st:
3000 block of Queens Chapel Road: Death report - 8:05 am. Officers learned that a 78 year female passed away during the early morning hours. There was no evidence of foul play and it appears that the deceased suffered from several health issues prior to her death. Death was pronounced by a doctor from Maryland Community Hospice.
3700 block of Rhode Island Avenue (Brentwood): Assault - 1:40pm. Officers learned that a customer was unhappy about a purchase and returned to the store to complain. An argument ensued and the customer allegedly threw water and 30 dead goldfish at the store owner before fleeing the store. The store owner was unable to provide the customer’s personal information. The incident will be followed up by the Brentwood Police Department.
2400 block of Arundel Road: Death report - 3:10 pm. Officers received a call for an unconscious man inside an apartment. He was transported to Washington Adventist Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Doctors at the hospital believed that the man died from natural causes and no foul play is suspected. Officers assisted the decedent’s family with funeral home arrangements.
