3100 block of Taylor Street: Attempted residential burglary – 9 pm. The homeowner told the officers that she returned home to discover her front door ajar. Further investigation revealed that someone tried to break into the home but was unable to make entry because the dead bolt prevented the door from being opened. The frame of the door was completely destroyed but the dead bolt kept the perpetrators at bay. Nothing was taken from inside and no physical evidence was obtained.
2700 block of Queens Chapel Road: Warrant arrest – 9:10 pm. Officers stopped a 2004 Dodge Neon for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver had an open arrest warrant through the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office for driving on a revoked license. He was arrested on the warrant, issued several traffic citations and delivered to the custody of DOC in Hyattsville. The vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.

Further investigation revealed that the tags displayed on the vehicle were issued to another vehicle. The driver was issued several traffic citations and the vehicle was impounded.
